Hachioji Craft Ramen: Reviews & Ratings
one of those LA gems where every dish feels like it was crafted with care, flavor, and just the right amount of fun. The bowls are the stars here — rich broths, perfectly cooked noodles, and toppings that hit all the right notes. The Tonkotsu Ramen was creamy, hearty, and deep in flavor, with tender chashu pork that practically melts in your mouth. The Black Garlic Ramen added that roasted, smoky edge that makes you slow down and savor each bite, while the Shoyu Ramen balanced clean soy flavor with nostalgic comfort. Each one was distinct, but all were consistently satisfying. The menu beyond ramen really shines too. The Spicy Tuna Roll (with creamy avocado and sesame) had that perfect kick of heat balanced by freshness. The Fried Rice was fluffy, flavorful, and loaded with smoky wok character — the kind of simple dish that steals the spotlight. The Takoyaki were crispy outside, gooey inside, topped with bonito flakes dancing in the steam — classic and delicious. The Curry Rice had a savory depth that was pure comfort food, while the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was a standout: crunchy base, creamy topping, a little drizzle of sauce — flavor and texture in perfect balance. And of course, the Gyoza came pan-seared just right: golden crisp bottoms, juicy inside, with a dipping sauce that tied it all together. The service is welcoming and efficient, making the meal flow smoothly even when the restaurant gets busy. The vibe is cozy yet lively — the kind of place that works for a casual dinner with friends, a date night, or just treating yourself after a long day. Hachioji Craft & Vegan Ramen isn’t just about ramen, it’s about variety and balance — bowls that warm your soul, sides that surprise you, and a dining experience that feels thoughtful and delicious from start to finish. Definitely a spot worth bookmarking in LA’s endless food scene.
This place is amazing!! Everything me and my boyfriend had was delicious. The lunch special is a great deal. They have gluten free noodles which are amazing and it makes the menu extremely accessible (was able to add to the vegan ramen which was so good). I highly recommend!
I ordered the Roasted Duck as an appetizer and Chasu YAMA ramen for lunch. My first time here, and it was quite enjoyable. The roasted Duck was decent, but I may pass on it based off the price in the future. But the ramen was solid. Soup: 9.2, Chashu: 7.9, Toppings: 8.5. The soup was light and hearty, which is a difficult combination when adding black garlic oil. Egg was perfectly cooked with a medium “jammy” yolk. Chasu pork was good, but was not as tender as I’ve had at other places. But the winner in this dish was the soup & noodles, which were fantastic. Overall, great spot for a lunch!
Simple Menu but that means every item on there is made perfect and consistent. Also doesn't make your wallet hurt like other places nearby. Service is fast and excellent along with the atmosphere just wish had a TV or something for game nights. Overall best place to eat in little Tokyo in my opinion. Happy hour is the best time to come as well for those frosty beers
Pretty crowded but service was quick and great. We got a Mazesoba and an Umi Tonkatsu ramen and both were excellent I highly recommend trying the Mazesoba though as it was really creamy and different. The atmosphere was very casual and the decorations really brought the street food vibe out!
This place has more of a Japanese feel in regards to the ambience. The food is really good, a must is appetizer chicken karaaga; the spread with it is amazing. The service is prompt and attentive.
Honestly one of the best ramen in the USA. Their spicy vegetarian ramen was amazing, the broth did stand true to its name.
First time trying this spot and I really liked it. It's small inside but they also have outside seating. There was a decent amount of people when we arrived but got seated right away. I ordered a Spicy Ramen and Karaage bowl combo which came with a small salad. The salad was simple, light and refreshing. The karaage bowl was good with a decent amount of chicken. Although it was different from other karaage that I've had. It didn't have as much breading therefore not as crunchy. I still enjoyed it though. The spicy ramen was not spicy at first but once I got to the bottom it definitely started hitting! It was flavorful and the meat were small chunks. It was a simple ramen with not too many ingredients in it but still very flavorful. For dessert we got the Yuzu ice cream which also had orange zest and while it was refreshing and a palate cleanser it was slightly overpriced for the amount you get. And to wash everything down I got a Strawberry Nigori Sake which kinda reminded me of a spiked Kerns fruit juice which isn't a bad thing. I thoroughly enjoyed my sake but $17 for a bottle is overpriced. Other than the sake and ice cream everything else was pretty affordable. Ramen was like $16 or $17 and it was a large portion. Also, they have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options so highly recommend to anybody looking for that. Service was great and I would definitely consider coming here again.
